The GREY REVOLUTION: How Bosun Tijani is transforming Africa through technology.

Bosun Tijani was born in Nigeria in 1979. From a young age, he had a passion for technology, and he knew that he wanted to make a difference in his home country. He studied computer science and business administration at the University of Lagos, and he began his career as a software developer. In 2010, he founded Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB), a tech hub that has become a powerhouse in the African tech scene.
As CcHUB grew, Tijani began to focus on building a community of like-minded individuals who shared his passion for technology. He saw CcHUB as a place where young people could come together to learn, create, and collaborate. The hub has been a driving force behind the growth of the tech industry in Nigeria and across Africa, and it has helped to launch many successful startups. Tijani's vision for CcHUB has been recognized by organizations like the World Economic Forum, which named him a "Technology Pioneer" in 2019.
Thanks to Tijani's leadership, CcHUB has evolved from a simple tech hub to a multifaceted organization with a broad mission. It now includes CcHUB Capital, a $10 million early-stage fund for startups; CcHUB Foundation, which supports social innovation and impact-driven businesses; and CcHUB Academy, which offers courses and training programs for young people. Tijani is also a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry, and he has spoken out about the need to create opportunities for women and minorities in the field.
Under Tijani's leadership, CcHUB has become a model for other tech hubs in Africa and around the world. It has been credited with helping to spur the growth of the "Silicon Savannah", a nickname for the thriving tech scene in Nairobi, Kenya. CcHUB has also been a partner in launching similar tech hubs in Rwanda, Uganda, and South Africa. Tijani has been widely recognized as a pioneer of the African tech scene, and he is often cited as an inspiration for young entrepreneurs in the region.
Tijani's success has not come without challenges. He has faced criticism from those who see CcHUB as a Western-style import that does not reflect African values. He has also had to navigate the complex political and economic landscape of Nigeria, where corruption and a lack of infrastructure can make it difficult to do business. Despite these challenges, Tijani has remained committed to his vision of using technology to create a more prosperous and equitable Africa.
One of Tijani's most significant achievements has been his role in the formation of the African Union for the Digital Economy (AUDE). The AUDE is a coalition of tech leaders from across Africa, and it was launched in 2018 with the goal of promoting the digital transformation of the continent. Tijani was instrumental in the formation of the AUDE, and he currently serves as its chairman. He has described the AUDE as "the African equivalent of the European Union's Digital Single Market". Tijani's vision for the future of the African tech industry is ambitious and far-reaching. He has said that he sees a future where Africa is a major player in the global tech ecosystem, and he is working to make that vision a reality. He has spoken about the importance of creating a "shared digital future" for Africa, where everyone has access to the internet and the benefits that it brings. He also believes that the tech industry has the potential to drive economic growth and create jobs in Africa.
